Maine Medical Center (MMC), the state's largest tertiary care hospital with over 700 beds and a key teaching affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine, seeks a Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Section and Medical Director of the Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) Program. This position will oversee a comprehensive regional program offering advanced heart failure care, mechanical circulatory support (including temporary and durable VADs) and collaborative transplant services. In addition, the Director of Heart Failure will work closely with CV Critical Care and Cardiac Surgery Teams to co‑lead the institution's cardiogenic shock and ECMO programs. MMC is recognized as a Gold Level Center of Excellence by ELSO and recently recertified by The Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission as an Advanced Certification for Ventricular Assist Device in 2025. This position involves a direct teaching role within our Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship as well as mentoring medical students from the Maine Medical Center‑Tufts University School of Medicine Program (Tufts‑Maine Track). The candidate will have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine.
