HealthDrive is seeking a Medical Director to oversee admissions and collaborate with on-site Nurse Practitioners serving skilled nursing residents in sub-acute rehab and long-term care units. This on-site role emphasizes leadership and regulatory compliance.

The Medical Director will lead clinical care plans, participate in quality initiatives, and support staff with documentation, coding, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice medicine in the state of practice.
• DEA/Controlled Substances license valid.
• Completed U.S. residency program.
• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Certified Medical Director certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work on-site.
• Strong communication with geriatric/Medicare population.
• Proficient with email, internet and healthcare software.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Medical Director or Attending Physician for SNFs/rehabs.
• Attend monthly QA/regulatory meetings and quarterly staff meetings.
• Oversee care plans, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with NPs to manage daily resident care at each facility.
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered primary care during rounds.

Overview

HealthDrive is looking for a part-time or full-time Medical Director to handle new admissions and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners that are attending to skilled nursing residents in both the sub-acute rehab and long-term care units. The Medical Director will promote good health practices and work collaboratively as a member of the medical staff. This is an on-site position (NOT remote).

Responsibilities

• The physician will serve as the Medical Director or Attending Physician for skilled nursingfacilities/rehabs and will participate in administrative and quality initiatives for assigned facilities
• Medical Director will attend and participate in monthly quality assurance/regulatory meetingsand quarterly staff meetings
• The Medical Director will participate in quality improvement initiatives, provide guidance tofacility staff, oversee clinical care plans, compliance with state and federal regulations, andsupervise facility clinical staff
• The physician collaborates with Nurse Practitioners to manage the daily care for each resident ateach facility. Each facility will have a full-time NP assigned to the facility depending on the acuityand volume of the patient population
• The Medical Director will provide high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary careservices by rounding on patients residing in SNFs/Rehabs

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a valid medical license in the state of practice
• Candidate must hold a valid DEA/Controlled Substance License in the state of practice
• Candidate must have completed a valid U.S. residency program
• Candidate must have completed a medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Candidate must have a Certified Medical Director certificate or be willing to get one
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with on-site staff
• Effective communication skills with the geriatric or Medicare population
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to use email, the internet, and to learn other healthcare related software

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move inside a facility frequently and walk briskly in order to see patients, meet with managers/facility staff and attend to patient needs
• Ability to document in an EMR system on a laptop computer
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs in a facility
• Some ability to position oneself to obtain records, tools, medical equipment and other items that may be in locations that are below the knee or above the shoulder
• Effectively communicate with patients, nurse practitioners, and facility staff in English
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
