HealthDrive is seeking a part-time or full-time Medical Director to oversee new admissions and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners in skilled nursing facilities. This on-site role emphasizes patient-centered primary care, quality initiatives, and regulatory compliance.

The Medical Director will attend to administrative duties, supervise staff, and ensure high standards of care across sub-acute rehab and long-term care units, with a focus on geriatric populations.

Qualifications

• Valid medical license in the state of practice.
• Valid DEA/Controlled Substances license.
• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Certified Medical Director certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Completion of a U.S. residency program.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Medical Director or Attending Physician for SNFs/Rehabs and participate in administrative and quality initiatives.
• Attend monthly quality assurance/regulatory meetings and quarterly staff meetings.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and oversee clinical care plans.
• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners to manage daily resident care.
• Provide patient-centered primary care services by rounding on residents.

Overview

HealthDrive is looking for a part-time or full-time Medical Director to handle new admissions and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners that are attending to skilled nursing residents in both the sub-acute rehab and long-term care units. The Medical Director will promote good health practices and work collaboratively as a member of the medical staff. This is an on-site position (NOT remote).

Responsibilities

• The physician will serve as the Medical Director or Attending Physician for skilled nursingfacilities/rehabs and will participate in administrative and quality initiatives for assigned facilities Medical Director will attend and participate in monthly quality assurance/regulatory meetingsand quarterly staff meetings The Medical Director will participate in quality improvement initiatives, provide guidance tofacility staff, oversee clinical care plans, compliance with state and federal regulations, andsupervise facility clinical staff The physician collaborates with Nurse Practitioners to manage the daily care for each resident ateach facility. Each facility will have a full-time NP assigned to the facility depending on the acuityand volume of the patient population The Medical Director will provide high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary careservices by rounding on patients residing in SNFs/Rehabs

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a valid medical license in the state of practice
• Candidate must hold a valid DEA/Controlled Substance License in the state of practice
• Candidate must have completed a valid U.S. residency program
• Candidate must have completed a medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Candidate must have a Certified Medical Director certificate or be willing to get one
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with on-site staff
• Effective communication skills with the geriatric or Medicare population
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to use email, the internet, and to learn other healthcare related software

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move inside a facility frequently and walk briskly in order to see patients, meet with managers/facility staff and attend to patient needs
• Ability to document in an EMR system on a laptop computer
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs in a facility
• Some ability to position oneself to obtain records, tools, medical equipment and other items that may be in locations that are below the knee or above the shoulder
• Effectively communicate with patients, nurse practitioners, and facility staff in English
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
