Job summary

STGi is seeking a Medical Director to lead clinical services and coordinate medical care for residents in a facility setting in the United States. The role emphasizes ensuring optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, and collaborating with the Administrator and Director of Nursing on program development.

The Medical Director will oversee medical staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide on-call coverage as needed to support resident health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate medical care to ensure residents receive appropriate care.
• Ensure residents attain or maintain their highest physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.
• Ensure other licensed practitioners including NPs act within regulatory requirements and scope of practice.
• Meet with department directors and supervisors concerning the medical and functional needs of residents.
• Assist in planning and developing the facility’s medical and nursing programs with Administrator and Director of Nursing.
• Provide rotating on-call services and availability in crisis scenarios.

Medical Director

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinate medical care to ensure that residents receive appropriate care.
• Ensure residents attain or maintain their highest practical physical, mental and psychosocial well-being.
• Ensure other licensed practitioners including NPs who perform physician-delegated tasks act within the regulatory requirements and within the scope of practice as defined by state law.
• Meet with department directors and supervisors concerning the medical and functional needs of the resident population.
• Assist in planning and developing the facility’s medical and nursing programs in collaboration with Administrator and Director of Nursing.
• Provide rotating on call services and availability in crisis scenario.
