Job summary

VCA Kelliwood Animal Hospital in Katy, TX is seeking a Medical Director to lead medical quality and direction of the hospital. You will be supported by world‑class medicine and a collaborative team dedicated to fear‑free techniques and high standards of care.

You'll mentor staff, partner with Operations, Marketing and HR, and play a key role in clinical studies and CE opportunities while maintaining dedication to outstanding patient care and client relations.

Qualifications

• DVM degree from an accredited university.
• Texas licensure in good standing or ability to obtain.
• Commitment to the highest standard of medicine and veterinary ethics.

Responsibilities

• Define hospital direction and medical quality for the team.
• Provide medical leadership and guidance to staff.
• Mentor and collaborate with veterinarians and support teams.
• Engage with rescue groups and community partners.
• Promote fear-free techniques and high-quality patient care.

Schedule

• Full-Time schedule
• Our hospital is open Monday - Friday 7:00am - 6:00pm and Saturday 8:00am - 2:00pm
• Full-time veterinarians average 4 10-hour shifts (rotating Saturdays)

• Salary is negotiable based on experience, skills, knowledge, abilities and other relevant credentials

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, from an accredited university or equivalent
• Licensure in good standing to practice in Texas, or the ability to obtain
• A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
