Role Description

How You'll Make An Impact

As Medical Director Services at Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education – Roosevelt (ICRE-R), you’ll make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students! In this role, you’ll provide 24/7 medical support, working closely with our dedicated medical staff and hospital teams to ensure students receive the care they need. You'll review admission records, offer important medical recommendations, and help keep everything running smoothly by verifying licenses, employment history, and regulatory compliance. Your expertise and compassion will play a key role in creating a safe and supportive environment where students can thrive.

With your leadership, we can continue to provide outstanding support to our students, helping them navigate medical challenges with confidence and care. This position requires 5 hours per week on-site, with hours scheduled between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. We’ll provide comprehensive training to ensure that you are fully prepared and compliant with infection control practices in line with the Infectious Disease Control Policy.

Additionally, in line with Center procedures, you will need to undergo a TB (Mantoux) skin test before starting your duties. You will be required to provide documentation of a test performed within the last ninety days.

Set the vision for healthcare at ICRE-R, and lead a multidisciplinary medical team to deliver individualized, student-centered care. • Utilize your expertise to guide the direction of medical programs that address the complex needs of our students.• Supervise and support our medical staff, providing leadership, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to ensure an environment of excellence in care.• Ensure the highest standards of clinical care and oversee the development and implementation of individualized medical treatment plans for each student, ensuring that every care regimen meets their unique needs and promotes their overall well-being.• Develop, implement, and monitor medical policies and procedures based on current best practices, medical ethics, and state licensing and regulatory standards.

Who We Are Looking For

• You have a current, valid medical license and certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties (or an equivalent certification), specializing in behavioral and developmental pediatrics.
• You also have 3+ years of hands-on experience in medical administration, where you’ve been responsible for guiding, planning, and evaluating medical and clinical programs.
• Your experience has given you the ability to navigate complex challenges thoughtfully and lead with both skill and empathy, ensuring programs run smoothly while always keeping the needs of patients at the forefront.
• You are a caring and supportive leader, ready to inspire and guide a team of talented medical professionals.
• You have a natural ability to build strong, lasting relationships and understand the importance of teamwork and connections.
