Job summary

Actalent is seeking a highly hands-on Engineering Technician in Miami to assemble, test, and troubleshoot prototype and production medical devices. You will work with engineering, R&D and manufacturing to support development, testing, and process improvements for neurovascular products.

The role provides exposure to mechanical systems, electronics, and manufacturing processes in a regulated environment. On-site, contract-to-hire, with opportunities to grow into broader engineering roles.

Qualifications

• Hands-on troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude in a regulated environment.
• Experience with medical device manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and support prototype and production medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and support prototype and production medical devices.
• Perform catheter fabrication, inspection, and evaluation activities.
• Build and maintain test fixtures, jigs, and development equipment.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, and functional testing while documenting results.
• Support engineering teams with product development, validation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Utilize hand tools, measuring equipment, microscopes, and laboratory equipment to build and evaluate components.
• Assist with technical support activities, root-cause investigations, and product troubleshooting.
• Support 3D printing activities for prototypes, fixtures, and design iterations.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams in a highly regulated environment.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a Technician, Engineering Technician, or related hands-on technical role.
• Experience working within a medical device, aerospace, or similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with hand tools, precision tools, and test equipment.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and procedures.
• Comfortable assembling small, intricate components with a high degree of accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Desire to learn and grow into broader engineering responsibilities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
