Job summary

Amphenol Alden Products is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Sustaining to support product life cycles, improve designs, and drive cost efficiencies in medical device interconnect products.

You will collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams, create 3D CAD models, drawings, and documentation, and manage engineering changes.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree (bachelor preferred), 2+ years of related experience, SolidWorks expertise, and a process-minded, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or a related technical field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD software.
• Knowledge of metals, plastics, manufacturing processes, and assembly design.
• Familiarity with engineering change processes and systems.
• Experience with engineering data management; SolidWorks ePDM preferred.
• Strong work ethic, problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to customers and manufacturing facilities, investigate product questions, and resolve design issues.
• Develop product extensions and implement design modifications to enhance performance and manufacturability.
• Create and update 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and support engineering change requests and communicate changes to customers.
• Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities across product lines.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Quality, Operations, customers, and manufacturing teams.
• Support products throughout their life cycle to meet customer requirements.
