Job summary

QuidelOrtho is seeking a Software Release Manager to lead end-to-end release planning and ensure high-quality delivery for regulated medical device software. The role sits within the R&D Instrument Platforms organization and requires coordinating across engineering, quality, regulatory, and product teams.

The position is hybrid, with 2 days onsite at our San Diego Summers Ridge location, and involves working with external partners to drive release readiness and compliance with FDA/ISO standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software program management, Agile environments, or related.
• Experience delivering complex software systems cross-functionally.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, resources, and vendor engagements.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum) and release management.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end software release planning through deployment.
• Develop and manage integrated release plans with milestones and budgets.
• Coordinate cross-team integration for system readiness and stability.
• Lead release readiness processes and define done criteria with metrics.
• Track Agile metrics and drive accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage dependencies and communicate progress to leadership.
