Job summary

Boston Scientific in Arden Hills, MN, is offering a 12-week software internship in our AIS R&D group. You'll design and implement software features for medical device prototypes using Java as the primary language, with Kotlin, C++, and JavaScript contributions as needed.

You'll support Android and Linux environments, collaborate with engineering and clinical teams, and help validate test methods while analyzing clinical datasets to inform device behavior.

Qualifications

• Current rising junior or rising senior (grad dates between Dec 2028 - May 2029).
• Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Must be able to start internship on May 17th or 24th, 2027 and work for 12 weeks.
• Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
• Experience with Java is a key requirement.
• Familiarity with Kotlin or Android OS, Linux or C++, and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software features for medical device prototypes using Java as the primary development language, with additional contributions in Kotlin, C++, and JavaScript as needed.
• Support mobile and embedded development on Android OS and Linux, helping to optimize performance, reliability, and user experience in clinical environments.
• Collaborate with engineering and clinical teams to translate procedural insights into software requirements, including viewing live and recorded procedures to inform design decisions.
• Assist in developing and validating test methods that replicate real-world device usage, integrating clinical feedback into iterative software improvements.
• Contribute to data analysis efforts by working with clinical datasets to identify patterns and inform device behavior, interface logic, and procedural support tools.
