Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Medical Device Research and Development Engineer for a 12+ month contract in Bloomington, IN. You will apply engineering principles to develop medical devices that meet clinical needs and quality standards, lead small projects, and provide technical leadership across teams.

Responsibilities include guiding design decisions, documenting best practices, and deploying innovative solutions. Experience in regulated medical device environments is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; 3–5 years relevant experience.
• Experience in medical devices or regulated environments preferred.
• Project/technical leadership experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking; ability to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical development of small projects or portions of larger programs.
• Lead key design decisions to ensure quality and customer fit.
• Create procedures, white papers, or guidance for focus areas.
• Collaborate with SMEs, physicians, and product managers to advance medical devices.
• Drive project tasks to meet milestones and business metrics.
• Maintain design history files and support new processes and IP generation.
