Job summary

Socket.dev in Hayward, CA is seeking a full-time on-site Research and Development Engineer to contribute to medical device engineering across bench testing, sustaining product lines, verification and validation, and process improvements.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to meet Quality Management System requirements and timelines, design verification tests and CAD models, build prototypes, and support clinical studies and evaluations at sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with medical device development life cycles.
• 3D modeling with 2D dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Proficiency in CAD software; SolidWorks or Fusion 360 preferred.
• Experience designing and testing prototypes.
• Electromechanical and programming experience valued.
• Experience with statistical techniques.
• Willingness to travel to Contract Manufacturers overseas.

Responsibilities

• Support senior members in benchtesting new product development.
• Design verification test methods, fixtures, and execute verification test methods.
• Compile test data, perform statistical analysis, and document results.
• Contribute to the design of new products, including developing CAD models, drawings, and specifications.
• Build prototypes and solve problems.
• Interact with physicians and nurses at clinical sites to support clinical studies and/or product evaluations.
