Job summary

Keystone Manufacturing in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support production of medical devices by maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment, systems, and documentation per QMS guidelines. You will work with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Quality Assurance to ensure reliability and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 2+ years of mechanical experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 2 years mechanical aptitude or experience.
• Ability to generate, follow and explain detailed maintenance procedures.
• Analyze and correct complex equipment issues using independent judgement.
• Plan, organize, document and implement multiple concurrent tasks.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, inspection equipment.
• Support development of preventive maintenance schedules based on OEM recommendations.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative, predictive, and unscheduled maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
• Documents equipment activities per QMS guidelines with sufficient detail.
• Records spare parts usage to maintain accuracy of inventory.
• Reports equipment metrics, such as uptime and downtime, to stakeholders.
• Ensures production equipment adheres to QMS guidelines and SOPs.
• Develops system level design strategies and coordinates implementation.
• Supports development, testing, and refinement of manufacturing systems.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement with clear status updates.
• Maximizes equipment uptime and efficiency and identifies root causes.
• Collaborates with others and contributes new ideas.
• Maintains commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
