Job summary

Professional Employment Group of Colorado is seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer Level II to design, analyze, and develop complex hardware for medical devices. You will specify components, draft documentation, and lead design reviews while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 3–5 years in hardware design, strong knowledge of analog/digital circuits, and experience with Altium and testing tools. EMC/safety regulatory familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • 3-5 years as a direct design contributor.
  • 3-5 years in technical writing for requirements and tests.
  • EMC and safety regulatory experience.
  • Electrical design documentation and reports experience.
  • Strong analog/digital circuitry and PCB assembly knowledge.
  • Experience with Altium; familiarity with testing tools.
  • Knowledge of tolerance, worst-case analysis, reliability, and FMEA is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, document, create, or modify electrical hardware systems for medical devices.
  • Select and source hardware components including processors and peripherals.
  • Promote industry best-practices and hardware standards among team members.
  • Translate requirements into architectural designs and hardware solutions.
  • Participate with risk management team in risk documentation.
  • Solve complex system challenges across software and hardware subsystems.
  • Ensure hardware is high quality, maintainable, reliable, and fault-tolerant.
  • Collaborate with test engineers to resolve hardware issues.
  • Lead design reviews and estimate effort for hardware tasks.
  • Develop schematics – digital, analog, mixed signals.
  • Manage schematic entry, board/layout, and parts libraries.
  • Develop test plans and bring-up prototypes.
  • Analog signal manipulation (scaling, filtering, amplifying, converting).
  • Coordinate with PCB manufacturers and assembly houses.
  • Evaluate customer prototypes for performance and viability.
