Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a Product Development & Design Engineer in Tempe, AZ to design, validate and bring new medical devices to market. You will translate user needs into precise specifications, model designs with CAD/CAE, and develop test fixtures and validation plans while collaborating with manufacturing partners.

The ideal candidate has a university degree and demonstrated experience applying DFMs, DOE methods and problem-solving in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Ideally a university degree or equivalent with practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, develop, modify, and verify components and systems for medical devices with minimal supervision.
• Translate user needs to design inputs/specifications and produce system-level designs.
• Develop and analyze solutions, prototyping options to prove concepts.
• Apply fundamental and advanced concepts for problem solving.
• Support root cause analysis and evaluate potential solutions against requirements.
• Develop bench testing methods and measurement system analysis; develop DOE.
• Conduct research to support product design.
