Job summary

Viva Pediatric Healthcare in The Colony, TX, is seeking a Driver to transport medically fragile children between home and our Pediatric Day Center. Primary duty is safe, compassionate driving in our vans.

You will work with minors, parents and the IDT, follow infection control practices, attend meetings, and uphold center policies; a Texas driver license and current CPR/First Aid will be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 24 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification
• Maintain Texas Driver's License and insurability
• Follow safe driving techniques and state laws
• Practice infection control and respectful communication with minors and families

Responsibilities

• Drive transport vans to move patients between homes and the center
• Provide a safe, clean, and supportive transport environment
• Collaborate with the IDT, parents, and minors in care
• Attend required meetings and in-services

Job description

We are a Pediatric Day Center for medically fragile special needs children. We provide daily nursing care (M-F, 7:30am-5:00pm) in our facility for children ages birth thru 21 years of age who qualify for skilled nursing services. We are seeking a Driver for transportation of patients to and from their homes to our center driving our transport vans.

Primary function is to provide driving services to the Pediatric Day Center, to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with minors, parents, the IDT and community.

Education and Experience

• be 24 years of age or older
• high school diploma or a general equivalency degree, preferred
• maintain current certification in Pediatric Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and basic First Aid

A Driver providing services on behalf of a center will be responsible for the following:

• Maintain current Texas Driver's License
• Maintain insurability status
• Practice safe driving techniques
• Obey all state laws related to driving a vehicle
• Practice accepted infection control practice. Promote a clean, safe environment
• Promote positive, supportive, respectful communication to minors, parents and the IDT
• Provide an environment which promotes respect for patient, privacy and property
• Promote and adhere to center policies
• Attend meetings and in-services as required by the center
