Job Description

Pay: $18.36/hr

Job Type: REMOTE or IN-OFFICE; Contract to possible perm

Shift: M-F 8am-5pm

  • Must have 1-2 years of credentialing experience
  • MSOW platform/software knowledge preferred
  • The position is remote, but they can go into the office if they would like.
  • If working remotely - must have their own WIFI and designated workspace
General Summary:
  • Participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.
  • Manages reappointment process for medical staff, updates credentialing database and privileges.
  • Handles alignment and reinstatement for medical staff appointees; manages privileges for Allied Health Professionals.
  • Maintains current documentation in the Expirables Process.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Processes Medical Staff Reappointments and Allied Health Renewals as scheduled, including issuing application packets, gathering information, verifications, and obtaining Board approval prior to expiration.
  • Assists department chairmen in reviewing applications for compliance with bylaws and regulations, preparing for Credentials Committee review.
  • Performs recredentialing and verification of delegated providers according to policies and deadlines.
  • Coordinates onboarding of new medical staff and Allied Health professionals, monitoring recredentialing status monthly.
  • Gathers reports, verifications, and documentation for review by department chairman and submission to Medical Executive Committee.
  • Processes reinstatement requests, gathers necessary documentation and verifications, including reviews by department chairman and Credentials Committee.
  • Manages expired licenses and certifications, such as licensure, DEA, Board Certification, malpractice insurance, life support, etc., monthly according to policies.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written), strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse backgrounds and professional levels.
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
  • Medical Terminology.
  • Understanding of credentialing principles and regulations.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in business or healthcare administration, or
  • At least two years of professional secretarial or administrative experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare administration, experience in credentialing or Medical Staff Services, and credentialing software knowledge.
Licensure and Certification (Preferred):
  • Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS), or
  • Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM).
