Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Courier to join our team in Urbandale, IA 50322. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 11:30am to 8:00pm. You will load supplies, complete pickups, deliver to the branch, and handle medical specimens with care.

The role requires reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Labcorp provides a company vehicle for route use; personal use options are available for a monthly fee.

Qualifications

• No experience or education required.
• Labcorp preferred: current or prior Labcorp experience.
• 2+ years courier or route-based delivery in medical/lab settings.
• 2+ years using handheld delivery-management devices or routing tools.

Responsibilities

• Load all necessary supplies needed for the daily pickups.
• Complete daily pick up schedule in a timely manner.
• Deliver all daily picks to your branch at the end of your shift.
• Handle all specimens and lab samples in safe, efficient manner.
• Safely operate company vehicle and obey traffic laws.
• Utilize handheld device to manage daily pickups.
• Work with dispatcher for additional pickups as needed.
• Evaluate traffic patterns, alternate routes and weather conditions.

Job Responsibilities

• Load all necessary supplies needed for the daily pickups
• Complete daily pick up schedule in a timely manner

• Work directly with dispatcher for additional pick-ups as needed
• Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes and weather conditions as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• No experience or education required

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or Prior Labcorp experience
• 2 or more years of professional courier or route‑based delivery experience within a medical or laboratory company.
• 1 or more years of experience handling medical specimens or supporting hospital / laboratory operations
• 2 or more years of experience using handheld delivery‑management devices or route optimization tools, such as scanners, GPS‑based routing software, or dispatch applications

Additional Job Standards

• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• Be 21 years of age or older
• Punctual with strong time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Customer service experience
• Ability to problem solve customer issues
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Included with this position is a company vehicle to use for the route. In addition, for only $125 per month, you will have the option of taking this vehicle home with you and using it for personal use.

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
