Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, Inc. is seeking a dependable Medical Courier to join our team in Montgomery, AL. This full-time role requires on-call availability, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel as needed.

You will pick up, package, and deliver blood products and supplies, ensuring professional service to hospitals, customers, and LifeSouth locations while maintaining accurate records and vehicle readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to organize work and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and read procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, proportions, and percentages).
• Ability to routinely lift up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift up to 70 pounds, with assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Package, pick up, and deliver blood products to hospitals, customers, LifeSouth locations, and transportation agencies.
• Collect blood products from mobile collection sites and customers and transport them to the component production area.
• Load and unload blood products, supplies, and other materials, using a hand truck when needed.
• Inspect the delivery vehicle daily to ensure it is clean, properly equipped, and in working condition; report any operational issues.
• Deliver documents, pick up supplies, and transport small items for repair as needed.
• Maintain records of incoming and outgoing materials and provide professional service to internal and external customers.
• Help the Hospital Services Team Leader resolve problems promptly while following LifeSouth’s Standard Operating Procedures.

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Medical Courier to join our team in Montgomery, AL.

Schedule and Availability

This position requires on-call availability and may include nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As a Medical Courier, you’ll help ensure blood and blood products reach the people who need them. You’ll pick up, package, and deliver blood products and supplies while providing professional service to hospitals, customers, and other LifeSouth locations.
