Job summary

Talentify seeks a detail-oriented Medical Collector to manage outstanding accounts, verify insurance, and ensure compliant billing. You will communicate with patients and providers to resolve disputes and keep accurate records.

The role requires familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9, DRGs, and billing processes, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with the billing team to improve collection rates.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical collections or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records systems, and coding practices is essential.
• Strong understanding of medical billing processes and insurance verification procedures.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.

Responsibilities

• Manage and follow up on outstanding medical accounts to ensure timely payment.
• Review patient accounts for accuracy and completeness, including verifying insurance information.
• Utilize knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG, and medical coding to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, payment options, and disputes.
• Work closely with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for claims processing.
• Maintain detailed records of all collection activities and communications in the system.
• Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and billing practices to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with the billing department to streamline processes and improve collection rates.
