Job summary

panaHEALTH Solutions is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist to join our healthcare operations team in Chicago. You will review medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to ensure proper claims submission and timely reimbursement.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, adherence to coding guidelines, and collaboration with billing and RCM teams to resolve coding issues. 0–2 years of experience and relevant education are preferred as you develop specialized medical

Qualifications

• Experience with ICD-10-CM coding and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and CMS coding guidelines is preferred.
• Knowledge of risk adjustment and HCC coding is advantageous.
• Familiarity with EHR/EMR and medical coding software.
• Certification such as CPC, CRC, CCS, or CCA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Verify code accuracy to reflect documented diagnoses and services.
• Check claims for coding errors before submission.
• Collaborate with billing and RCM teams to resolve coding issues.
• Stay updated with coding guidelines and payer requirements.
