Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a Manager of Coding to lead inpatient and outpatient coding, audits, and education programs. This role ensures accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in coding quality across the organization.

You will collaborate with CDI, Compliance, Revenue Integrity, and clinicians to support revenue cycle performance and regulatory adherence, while developing training materials and educational webinars.

Qualifications

• Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent).
• 3–5 years of medical coding experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCC/Risk Adjustment.
• Proven experience in education and training for staff coders and providers.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the medical coding team, ensuring efficient and accurate coding practices.
• Provide ongoing education and training to staff coders and healthcare providers.
• Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee coding quality and compliance through audits and quality assurance reviews.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to improve documentation practices.
