Job summary

Catholic Health Services is seeking a Coding and Billing Specialist to review provider documentation and coding for inpatient and outpatient services before charges are released. You will query chart items, stay updated on coding rules, and support departments with data mining to improve reimbursement accuracy.

The role requires CPC/RHIT/CCS credentials, strong knowledge of ICD10 and CPT, and the ability to work independently with attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Coding certification(s): CPC, RHIT, CCS.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation and coding for inpatient and outpatient professional services before the release of charges.
• Query providers for items needing review or correction related to coding selected.
• Monitor regulatory changes as they apply to billing and coding in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Serve as a data mining and coding resource for practices/departments to ensure reimbursement accuracy.
• Identify coding issues related to denials and assist with training materials to prevent future issues.
• Accurately code CPT and diagnoses.
• Maintain department productivity standards and accuracy rates.
