Qualifications

• CPC or CCS-P certification required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to make outbound calls/faxes for record retrieval.
• Experience with ICD codes required.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience in medical record documentation review, diagnosis coding, and/or auditing.

Responsibilities

• Audit and abstract provider and/or vendor medical records to identify CMS codes.
• Validate codes used for risk adjustment are accurate and documented.
• Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security rules.
• Meet project deadlines and timelines.
• Perform self-process audits for compliance.
