What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct regular and comprehensive audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with laws and regulations
- Identify compliance issues, assess risks, and recommend solutions to resolve them
- Analyze and prepare reports on audit findings, providing recommendations to leadership and providers
- Review and educate coding and billing staff on compliance with regulations and policies
- Serve as a resource for compliance queries from various stakeholders, including Medicare and Medicaid
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Graduate
- Minimum of 3 years of medical chart auditing experience
- Minimum of 5 years of CPT coding experience in a medical field
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes
