The role emphasizes accurate E/M and ICD-10-CM/CPT coding, adherence to NCCI edits, and utilization of Coding Clinic resources to maintain coding accuracy. On-site position with daytime hours.

Qualifications

• CPC or CCS certification is required.
• Experience in outpatient or inpatient hospital coding compliance or auditing.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding rules.
• Familiarity with HEDIS measures and code reporting.
• Ability to review LCDs/payor policies and resolve coding edits.

Responsibilities

• Assign, sequence, validate, and edit codes for multi-specialty outpatient/inpatient encounters.
• Assign appropriate E/M, ICD-10-CM and CPT codes based on documentation and payer requirements.
• Report on HEDIS measures related to HTN, diabetes, obesity, and cervical cancer.
• Review NCCI and nosology edits for accurate code capture.
• Review LCDs and payer policies to resolve coding edits.
• Evaluate medical records for provider signature and facility credentials.
• Resolve and clarify clinical data as necessary.
• Run data reports to monitor individual productivity.
• Follow Coding Clinic and CPT Assistant guidance for accuracy.
