Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides coding and coding auditing services based on operative reports according to correct coding principles, current NCCI rules and LCD coverage determinations
  • Analysis and translation of medical and clinical diagnoses, procedures, injuries, or illnesses into designated numerical codes
  • Acts as a liaison to the physicians and clinical teams and provides feedback to physicians and management staff regarding proper documentation and coding and works within company standards to maintain policy and procedures
  • Meets coding and abstracting deadlines to expedite the billing and charge entry process and ensures best practices are met according to departmental policy and procedures
  • Proficient in all areas to ensure cross coverage

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • 2+ years of physician billing to include at least 1 year of coding experience abstracting from medical record documentation
  • Diversified understanding of CPT guidelines and Medicare rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of ICD-9/10 codes, CPT, and HCPCs
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Experience working with maintaining confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified ASC Coder Credential (CASCC)
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
