Baptist Memorial Health Care in Meridian, MS is seeking a medical coder to code diagnoses and procedures, abstract information for reimbursement and statistics, and provide daily education to providers, staff, and patients.
The ideal candidate has up to one year of outpatient or ED coding experience, knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and strong written and spoken English. An Associate degree is preferred.

Up to one year prior experience in physician/professional outpatient surgery, and/or emergency department coding.
Skill in communicating clearly and effectively using standard English in written, oral and verbal format to achieve high productivity and efficiency. Skill to write legibly and record information accurately as necessary to perform job duties. Associates Degree Preferred

Basic skills in verbal and written communication.
Certification in one of the following: Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialst Physician (CCSP), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA, Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC/CPCH, Certified Professional Coder Payer).
