Overview

Aya Healthcare is looking for remote coders to fulfill upcoming needs at our partner facilities!

Job Details

• Job title: Medical Coder
• Contract duration: 13-52 weeks
• Shift: Day
• Reporting location: 100% remote
• Onboarding time: Expect 2-3 weeks from offer acceptance to start date.

Responsibilities

• The position is primarily responsible for coding medical records and other documents at the conclusion of the patient’s visit. This requires selection of appropriate admitting diagnosis, principal and secondary diagnoses, and sequencing diagnoses and procedures.
• This role includes research and planning aligned with department productivity standards and maintaining the approved work schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or similar field preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Familiarity or experience with Computer Assisted Coding and/or automated encoder preferred.
• Credential maintenance is required by completing and reporting continuing education activities; failure to maintain the credential may result in corrective action up to termination.
