Job summary

Insight Global’s client in Red Bank, NJ is seeking a Certified Professional Coder to support a growing plastic and reconstructive surgery practice. This role is ideal for someone who codes from operative reports, collaborates with clinical and billing teams, and helps ensure accurate, timely claim submission.

Qualifications

• Active coding certification such as CPC, CPC-A, CCS or equivalent.
• 1–2+ years of medical scratch coding experience, ideally with surgical coding exposure.
• Strong CPT and ICD-10 coding knowledge.
• Ability to code from operative reports and physician documentation.
• Comfortable using Excel for logs, sorting, and tracking daily work.
• Detail-oriented with ability to work independently within a team.
• Flexible and resilient with changing processes and priorities.

This role is ideal for a coder who enjoys complex surgical coding, collaborating with clinical and billing teams, and helping ensure accurate, timely claim submission. The team is looking for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable coding from operative reports and physician documentation. Required Skills & Experience:

• Active coding certification such as CPC, CPC-A, CCS, or equivalent.
• 1–2+ years of medical scratch coding experience, ideally with surgical coding exposure.
• Strong understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Ability to code from operative reports and physician documentation.
• Comfortable working in Excel, including adding to logs, sorting/filtering, and tracking daily work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while still contributing to a team environment.
• Flexible, resilient, and comfortable with changing processes and shifting priorities.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Plastic surgery, reconstructive/plastic surgery, dermatology, oral surgery, or ophthalmology coding experience.
• Experience with Practice Plus, CoderPro, Availity, NexTech, Encoder Pro, or TriZetto.
• Prior experience coding facility or institutional billing claims.
• Experience supporting claim submission and denial workflows.

This role is paying up to $30/hr. for the right candidate. This role is also able to scale back to hybrid (3 days a week onsite) after 90 days.
