State of Maryland's MDH Office of Eligibility Services seeks a full-time Lead Worker to support the Medical Care Program Associate Supervisor by coordinating MMIS Eligibility data review, interpretation, and updates in MMIS Recipient Eligibility subsystem, aligned with federal and state rules.

This full-time contractual position assists the Medical Care Program Associate Supervisor in coordinating operational functions, which include reviewing, interpreting, verifying, and utilizing Medicaid eligibility data to accurately update and maintain the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) Recipient Eligibility sub-system in accordance with State and Federally mandated policies and regulations necessary to establish eligibility for Medical Assistance consumers. This position requires knowledge of Federal and State regulations, policies and procedures as they pertain to the Medical Assistance Programs. This position requires technical knowledge to access, interpret, and verify data in the Maryland Health Connect (MHC), Eligibility and Enrollment (E&E), and other systems of record.
This Lead Worker position provides technical assistance and guidance to Medical Care Program Associates, including assigning, reviewing work, and conducting quality assurance reviews. This position recommends solutions to problems as identified and provides training for staff as indicated. This position will also provide customer service to internal staff at the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) and external customers at various agencies regarding issues related to Medicaid eligibility. Additionally, this position acts as a liaison with community partners such as hospitals, Social Security Administration and LDSS regarding all policy and procedural requirements of the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) Eligibility file.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
