Responsibilities

• Enter and verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Code and prepare ambulance claims for billing.

• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets; import/export data between systems.
• Process deposits, verify payments, and maintain accurate records.
• Post payments into billing software and reconcile accounts.
• Review accounts for refunds and process accordingly.
• Contact insurance companies, hospitals, and patients to check claim status.
• File appeals for denied/unpaid claims and follow up on balances.
• Support specialized roles (Auto, Medicaid, Contract Clerks) with follow-ups.
• Answer inbound calls, assist patients, and process payments.

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday (occasional Saturday OT)

Pay: $13.50–$14.50 per hour (based on experience)

People Plus is looking for candidates for a fast-paced office supporting billing operations. We’re hiring for multiple positions that work together to ensure accurate claims processing, payment posting, and customer support.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Entering and verifying patient demographics and insurance information
• Coding and preparing ambulance claims for billing
• Handling combined roles that manage both patient info and coding processes
• Creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets; importing/exporting data between systems
• Processing deposits, verifying payments, and maintaining accurate records
• Posting payments into billing software and reconciling accounts
• Reviewing accounts for refunds and processing accordingly
• Contacting insurance companies, hospitals, and patients to check claim status
• Filing appeals for denied or unpaid claims and following up on outstanding balances
• Supporting specialized roles (Auto, Medicaid, Contract Clerks) with claim follow-ups
• Answering inbound calls, assisting patients, and processing payments

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong Excel and basic math skills
• Comfortable working with data and multiple systems
• Good communication skills for phone and customer interaction
• Insurance knowledge and EOB understanding is a plus (not required)
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
