Job summary

MarinHealth is seeking a skilled Billing Specialist to coordinate full-scope billing for assigned specialty areas, ensuring accurate charge capture and timely reconciliation. You will work with Practice Leaders and Revenue Cycle teams to review queues, train staff, and monitor outstanding accounts.

Responsibilities include claims processing, CPT coding, and liaising with vendors to optimize payments. A strong emphasis on accuracy, communication, and regulatory compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate in a clear and positive manner both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction with attention to detail required.
• Ability to problem solve and monitor / track data, identify trends and create solutions.
• Understanding of insurance payors, prior authorizations and eligibility requirements.
• Knowledge of computer systems and applications, i.e. Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.

Responsibilities

• Effectively uses application of CPT coding system; interprets appropriately and accurately.
• Ensures staff submit proper and accurate documentation for services.
• Serves as a liaison/resource for revenue cycle processes.
• Responsible for completion of all claims and itemized bills daily, with complete accuracy.
• Responsible for daily review of reports from Apex and report discrepancies to the Practice Leader.
