Job summary

MarinHealth is seeking a Billing Specialist to coordinate full-scope billing for assigned specialties. You will ensure accurate charge capture, manage reconciliation, and work daily revenue cycle queues. You will collaborate with practice leaders and understand CPT coding and payer requirements.

Strong communication and attention to detail are essential. Experience with Apex/Epic and ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail.
• Ability to problem solve and monitor data, identify trends and create solutions.
• Understanding of insurance payors, prior authorizations and eligibility requirements.
• Knowledge of computer systems and applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Use CPT coding accurately; interpret appropriately.
• Ensure proper and accurate documentation by clinical staff and providers.
• Serve as liaison for revenue cycle processes with staff.
• Complete all claims and itemized bills daily with accuracy.
• Review Apex reports daily and report discrepancies to Practice Leader.
• Perform quality control on claims to ensure prompt, correct payments.
