Job summary

Surgery Partners in Florida is seeking a medical billing specialist to manage billing processes, transmit patient care information, and follow up on claims with UB04 and HCFA 1500 systems. You will identify trends and resolve discrepancies, preparing reports for management.

You must be proficient in Medicaid/Medicare billing, have strong written and verbal communication, and work effectively with medical staff and external payers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Minimum of two years of experience with medical office billing procedures.
• Billing certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolves disputed claims by gathering, verifying, providing information, and following up on claims.
• Resolves discrepancies by examining data and selecting corrective steps.
• Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures and reporting compliance issues.
• Maintains quality results by following standards set forth by the company.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and keeping current on Medicaid/Medicare billing procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
