Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in medical billing in a business setting.
• Formal training or education in medical billing.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 coding.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process medical billing information from multiple internal and external systems.
• Validate billing details including provider information, account numbers, dates of service, charges, and units billed.
• Submit qualified bills to PPO vendors for review and processing.
• Evaluate returned bills and approve or deny items as appropriate based on established procedures.
• Ensure bills are processed accurately and within required deadlines.
• Review medical bills for compliance with state fee schedules and regulatory requirements.
• Apply fee schedule adjustments and pricing modifications when necessary.
• Maintain current knowledge of billing regulations, reimbursement guidelines, and industry standards.
• Respond to inquiries from clients, healthcare providers, injured employees, and agency partners in a professional and timely manner.
• Research billing questions and resolve issues efficiently.
• Provide clear communication regarding claim and billing status while maintaining confidentiality.
