Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Medical Billing Certification preferred or equivalent to 2 years of billing experience.
• Continuing Education Certificates in billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create invoices for managed medical plans (FM Medical Vital, MenonitaVital, Triple S, Humana, MMM, MCS, and others).
• Create invoices for secondary medical plans and foundations.
• Use billing programs and bill within required time and manner.
• Transmit invoices electronically or send paper invoices and confirm transmission.
• Review, analyze, and correct rejected invoices.
• Meet productivity and monthly work plan metrics and monthly billing close.
• Investigate and resolve billing problems and escalate to Supervisor if needed.
• Contact medical offices, patients, and medical plans as necessary.
• Update medical plan rate charts and maintain up-to-date circulars.
• File sent invoices and deactivate paid cases.
• Assist in preparing patient payment agreements, quotes, or proof of receipt.
