Qualifications

• Experience with Medicare, Medi-Cal, and insurance billing.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding.

Responsibilities

• Post charges and complete claims to payers on time.
• Review transmitted claims and work rejected claims.
• Review patient bills for accuracy and obtain missing information.
• Prepare and transmit claims using billing software.
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard cycles.
• Check insurance payments for accuracy and contract discounts.
• Call insurers regarding payment discrepancies.
• Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
• Review accounts for insurance or patient follow-up.
• Research and appeal denied claims.
• Answer patient or insurer inquiries.
• Update billing software with rate changes.
• Read and interpret EOBs.
• Utilize EMR and billing systems.
