Job summary

Community-Corrections-Associatio is seeking a diligent Billing Specialist to ensure accurate and timely submission of medical claims. You will work with the Chief Fiscal Officer to manage billing submittal, postings, and corrections, while ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.

Ideal candidates have medical billing experience, knowledge of insurance guidelines, and strong Excel/Office skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years' experience in medical billing work.
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO/PPO, Medicare, and state Medicaid
• Positive customer service abilities
• Full knowledge of word processor, Microsoft Office, Excel and experience with Electronic Billing systems

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government agencies.
• Verify insurance payment and patient payment posting.
• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Monitoring the electronic data interchange portal daily to research, resolve, and resubmit rejected claims.
• Follow up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Review denied claims and resubmit after corrections.
• Ensure compliance with billing, patient privacy and electronic health information requirements.
