Job summary

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to join the Billing department in Minnesota. This in-person role is responsible for timely billing, AR follow-up, and customer service per policy, reporting to the Billing Manager.

Work with program and finance staff at the Ames Impact Center in Eagan, MN. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a $1,000 hiring bonus for external applicants.

Qualifications

• Two years billing and reconciliation experience.
• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Associates of Arts degree in business or accounting preferred.
• Knowledge of financial reporting and medical coding helpful.
• Experience with MN-ITS and PMAP payers desired.
• Not-for-profit billing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain billing files for timely invoices to individuals, insurance companies, state and county offices.
• Follow up on past due receivables and resubmit claims to third party payers.
• Review program charges to ensure timely, accurate and compliant charge capture.
• Maintain internal and external documentation of actions taken and provide status updates.
• Answer calls to the billing line as needed.
• Assist in audit preparation as directed by Billing Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is Responsible for timely billing, resolving accounts receivable and customer service per department procedure and policy. This position reports to the Billing Manager and will interact on a regular basis with program and finance staff.Schedule: Full-Time, 1.0FTE, Monday-Friday, regular business hours.Location: Fully In-Person (Ames Impact Center: 3000 Ames Crossing Rd, Suite 600, Eagan, MN 55121)Hiring Range: $24.29- $25.87/Hourly, plus $1,000 hiring bonus for external applicants.People Incorporated Mental Health Services is the largest nonprofit mental health provider in Minnesota.
