Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital is seeking a Billing Clerk to join our Hospital Billing Operations team at the Burnet Campus. This full-time, day-shift role offers 40 hours per week with regular status and a starting pay range of $18.16–$22.25 per hour, depending on experience and equity.

You will compile and prepare patient charges, process UB-04 and 1500 claim forms, review charges, and work with families and third-party payers to secure payment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Responsibilities

• Billing - Compile and prepare patient charges; prepare invoices, UB-04 and 1500 claim forms for third-party payment; review charges and pursue payment with families and payers.
• Systems Support - Maintain and update departmental systems, templates, payer and physician information.
• Collaboration - Serve as a resource within the department; mentor new employees and coordinate with related departments.
• Financial Support - Evaluate payment resources, counsel on third-party coverage, determine eligibility for state programs, and balance payments to accounts.
• Quality - Provide Quality Assurance reports for the division.
