Job summary

United Digestive is seeking a qualified Medical Coder in the Atlanta area to handle ICD and CPT coding, data entry, and claims processing for office E&M, imaging, infusions, labs, and other services performed by Atlanta Gastroenterology Associates.

Responsibilities include claim scrubs, appeals/denials handling, collaboration with billing partners, accurate coding, payer communication, HIPAA compliance, and meeting quality and productivity standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CPC required; 3–4 years of coding and/or medical office and billing experience.
• Advanced knowledge in E&M and procedural coding preferred, Gastroenterology experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Claim scrubs for clean claim submission.
• Work appeals/denials in a timely manner and create solutions to prevent future denials.
• Communicate and coordinate with billing company, hospitals, and payers.
• Assign correct ICD and CPT codes for services.
• Review patient records to determine accurate coding and billable services.
• Stay updated on CPT/ICD-10 changes and payer guidelines.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
