Job summary

The role requires an associate degree or certification with two years of billing experience, or a high school diploma with three years of related outpatient billing experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in medical curriculum and two years of billing experience.
• High School diploma and three years of outpatient, Medicare and Medicaid billing experience for third‑party payers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze account detail (charges, payments, adjustments) and respond to payer inquiries.
• Assist with denials to obtain proper reimbursement or services.
• Process claims for insurance billing reimbursements.
• Advise on diagnosis codes, CPT codes and modifiers or documentation requirements.
• Ensure department compliance with payer rules and regulations.
• Support program requirements for correct coding and billing.
• Create procedure manuals for billing staff to follow.
• Provide insurance verification procedures based on provider/service.
• Maintain accounts payable/receivable logs.
• Perform other related duties as directed.
