Spine Team Texas is seeking a Medical Billing Clerk to ensure timely submission of medical claims and accurate processing within the Revenue Cycle team.

The role supports the billing workflow from claim generation to payment posting, resolving edits and rejections, and coordinating secondary billing. A High School diploma with 2–3 years of billing experience is required, with preferred CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS knowledge and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; medical billing certification preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in medical billing, insurance claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Familiarity with EHR, practice management systems, and clearinghouses.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficient in communicating in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to insurance carriers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor claim batch status and investigate errors.
  • Review and resolve claim edits through clearinghouse and payor portals.
  • Submit secondary claims using information on primary payer EOBs.
  • Scan, upload, and file EOBs, insurance correspondence, checks, and billing documentation.
  • Open, sort, and distribute mail; Print and distribute faxes.
  • Prepare payment batches for posting and maintain detailed records of submissions.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and follow organizational policies.

Job Summary:The Spine Team Texas Medical Billing Clerk is responsible for timely and accurate processing of medical insurance claims, resolution of claim edits and rejections, coordination of secondary billing, and preparation of payment posting batches. This position serves as a key member of the revenue cycle team by ensuring claims are properly submitted, clearinghouse edits are resolved, payments are tracked, and supporting documentation is accurately maintained to maximize reimbursement and minimize claim delays.This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Spine Team Texas.
