UP Health System-Bell is seeking a Billing Clerk to manage claims processing and maintain accurate patient accounts in a busy hospital setting. The role emphasizes timely submission, adherence to policies, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (or equivalent) with experience in medical billing, familiarity with CPT-HCPCS and ICD-10 coding, and the ability to work under pressure while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework preferred.
• Prior insurance billing experience or analytical experience is a plus.
• Ability to handle confidential information and work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of CPT-HCPCS and ICD-10 coding is beneficial.
• Experience with patient accounts and remittance processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process 100% of accepted claims within one working day of receipt.
• Edit claims to completion and meet guidelines.
• Enter documentation promptly and keep account information current.
• Update billing system with demographic or insurance revisions within one day of receipt.
• Follow up on denials, rejections, and pending claims as needed.
