Responsibilities

• Follow up on unpaid claims, address rejections and appeal denied claims.
• Call insurance companies for claim status updates and billing details.
• Update counselors on client insurance updates/changes.
• Handle outstanding invoice calls.
• Monitor accounts receivable and respond to requests for additional medical documentation.
• Insurance and benefit verifications.
• Electronic billing and authorizations.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes and up-to-date billing regulations.
• Other billing department related tasks.
• All other duties as assigned.

A well-established behavioral health agency is seeking a full-time Medical Billing Associate. The ideal candidate would have a background in medical billing and coding, denials management, payment posting, insurance verification, prior authorization and insurance follow-up.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of prior experience working as a Medical Biller
• Previous experience with Mental Health billing is ideal.
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, Medicare/Medicaid and Third-Party payers.
• Experience with Medisoft, Therapy Notes, Penelope is a tremendous PLUS.
