Job summary

5 Mall Annex is seeking an Accounts Receivable/Medical Billing Specialist to manage the front-end billing and revenue collection for a health center. The role ensures timely reimbursement from Medicaid, Medicare, MCOs, and patients, with emphasis on HRSA compliance and sliding fee scales.

The candidate will oversee daily clinic balancing, charge generation, claims submission, payment posting, and denial management while applying HRSA discounts and maintaining data accuracy in CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of medical billing and accounts receivable experience, preferably in a FQHC or community health setting.
• CPB certification is required or preferred.
• Degree in accounting or business management.
• Proficient with Excel and EHR/Practice Management software (Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen).
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes; Medicaid/Medicare guidelines are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile daily front-desk cash logs, checks and credit card batches with reports.
• Generate and enter charges monthly and classify revenue by specialty groups.
• Prepare, scrub, and submit clean claims to payers via clearinghouse daily.
• Post ERAs, EOBs, and patient payments to accounts.
• Apply HRSA sliding fee discounts and audit self-pay balances.
• Analyze and resubmit denied claims; file appeals when needed.
• Perform additional finance duties as assigned.
