Job summary

Apex Staffing seeks an experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to oversee the billing operations for our OBGYN clients. The ideal candidate will file insurance claims, manage accounts receivable and patient accounts, and ensure accurate coding using ICD-10-CPT guidelines.

Applicants should have medical billing software proficiency, prior experience, and knowledge of coding rules to abstract data for reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate/bachelor preferred.
• Medical Billing and Coding Certification with coursework in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 preferred.
• OBGYN billing experience preferred (3 years).

Responsibilities

• Oversee billing operations for OB/GYN offices.
• File insurance claims and manage accounts receivable.
• Manage patient accounts and billing inquiries.
• Abstract data and code ambulatory surgery procedures using ICD-10-CM and CPT.

Accurately abstracts data and codes ambulatory surgery center procedures for reimbursement using ICD-10, CPT, and other applicable patient classification schemes.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Medical Billing and Coding Certification with successful completion of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding courses in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 preferred.
• OBGYN Billing and Coding: 3 years (highly preferred)

Salary range: $45,000 - $52,000 depending on experience
