Job summary

Southern Careers Institute in Pharr, Texas is seeking an Instructor to positively impact students’ lives. You will collaborate with educators to create an optimized learning environment, planning and organizing instruction to enhance student learning.

The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in billing and coding, with teaching experience preferred. The position offers a family-based environment, training opportunities, and benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401K.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ progressive experience in billing and coding.
• Prior postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 1 year is highly preferred.
• Meet TWC instructor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and applies thorough knowledge of the teaching field.
• Plans and organizes instruction to maximize student learning.
• Modifies instructional methods for diverse students' needs.
• Prepares lesson plans and teaches course as prescribed.
• Encourages development of communication and critical thinking skills.

• Plans and organizes instruction in ways which maximize student learning. Practice excellence in teaching and instruction;
• Modifies instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs;
• Prepare lesson plans and teach course as prescribed by the approved institutional curriculum;
• Encourages the development of communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ progressive experience in billing and coding;
• Prior postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 1 year in subject matter is highly preferred;
• Knowledge of medical terminology;
• Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology;
• Meet TWC instructor requirements.
