Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in medical billing or claims is preferred.
• CCS-Certified Coding Specialist credentials (CIC/COC) preferred upon hire.
• Proficient use of Epic, OnBase and payer portals.

Responsibilities

• Resolve intricate billing edits on previously billed accounts to rebill correctly.
• Follow up on No Response Work Queues via payer portals, phone, email or websites.
• Respond to denials with re-billing or appeals and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with Coding, Patient Access and other departments to resolve edits or denials.
• Identify payer trends in denials and aging AR to inform leadership and mitigate.
• Maintain detailed, accurate notes for each action taken on accounts.
